According to the Auburn Journal, Penguin's Date-Aprocot Bacon Rolls, which insiders refer to as Penguin Eggs, are "so popular that some who indulge have to be encouraged to move away from the chaffing dish." And so popular that Trader Joe's considered selling Penguin Eggs in their stores. The appetizer consists of an apricot stuffed with a date, wrapped in bacon, and glazed with Penguin's secret sauce.
